Introducing Business Energy Health Checks

Since 2009 Australian Household and Business Electricity Tariffs have increased at a rapid rate. This can be seen in the graph below which highlights the percentage increase in electricity charges from the Residential A1 tariff through to the Business tariffs offered at Synergy (Western Australian Electricity Retailer).

Based on these recent price rises:
  • Households using an average of 20 units of electricity per day, are now paying an extra $860 per year compared to prices in 2009.
  • Small businesses, using an average of 80 units of electricity per day, are now paying an extra $3,170 per year compared to prices in 2009.

  • Large businesses, using an average of 900 units of electricity per day, are now paying an extra $69,600 per year compared to prices in 2009.

ASA will show you how to take control of rising electricity costs, and improve energy efficiency throughout your assets. This can be achieved through the following measures:

1. Conduct a Level 1, 2 or 3 Energy Audit (AS/NZS 3598:2000)

2. Deploy Real-Time Energy Monitoring Solutions

3. Develop Business Cases for each significant Energy Efficiency Opportunity

4. Project Manage Energy Efficiency Projects and Installations

5. Deliver Energy Efficiency Workshops and Awareness Campaigns

Web Based Energy Monitoring

Near Real-Time / Web Based Energy Monitoring will help you to have a window into your energy consumption that you cannot achieve through historical billing information.

This technology can be adapted into all homes and business types, and can monitor:

  • Electricity
  • Gas

ASA will help you reduce your energy costs and carbon footprint

As a Scientist in Sustainable Energy Management (Murdoch University); I help Australian Businesses and Households improve their energy efficiency and thus reduce energy costs and the associated carbon footprint.

This is achieved by completing the following 5 steps:

1. Review Historical Energy Consumption.

2. Account for equipment use and its associated % of total energy consumption.

3. Identify and provide solutions for standby and wasted energy consumption.

4. Implement and/or improve existing energy monitoring and control devices.

5. Analyse future energy efficient investments and their associated Return On Investment (ROI).

All Energy Audits follow the AS/NZS 3598:2000.
